Zygonovism

Combination and differentiation

Zygonovism is the elementary nine-sum operation at the arithmetic base of the Numogram. Its first move is combination: pair the ten decimal zones so that the poles of every pair sum to nine. Its second move is differentiation: subtract the smaller pole from the larger to produce a current toward the resulting tractor zone. The short primary exposition names the first move nine-sum twinning and the second the arithmetical difference of a syzygy (Decimal Numogram, p. 1). The collected glossary compresses both into “Nine-Sorcery (9-sum combination and differentiation)” (Ccru: Writings 1997–2003, p. 425).

The complete operation is:

| Nine-sum pair | Difference / tractor zone | Current name in the collected glossary | Carrier in Pandemonium | | --- | ---: | --- | --- | | 9::0 | 9 | Plex | Uttunul | | 8::1 | 7 | Surge | Murrumur | | 7::2 | 5 | Hold | Oddubb | | 6::3 | 3 | Warp | Djynxx | | 5::4 | 1 | Sink | Katak |

The tractor values follow directly from the subtraction rule in the primary exposition. The current names and carriers are separately confirmed in the collected glossary entries for Hold, Plex, Sink, Surge, Warp, and Zygonovism (Ccru: Writings 1997–2003, pp. 416, 420, 422, 425). The table joins those documented layers; it does not infer new demon attributes from the arithmetic.

From five pairs to three time-systems

The five differences do more than divide the digits. The central three pairs feed a six-zone anticlockwise loop, the Time-Circuit, while 6::3 and 9::0 fold back into one of their own poles to make the autonomous Warp and Plex loops. The primary page calls currents the Numogram's main flows and treats the outer two loops as cryptic Outer- or Outside-time (Decimal Numogram, p. 1).

An archive Numogram graphic makes the result inspectable: the ten zones are arranged into the upper 3/6 loop, the six-zone middle circuit, and the lower 9/0 loop. The graphic does not print the word zygonovism or the carrier names, so the image is an orientation aid rather than independent evidence for the table.

Zygonovism must also be distinguished from the map's second connection system. Nine-sum differentiation produces currents. Digital cumulation and reduction produce gates and channels, the secondary routes that knit the three time-systems together (Decimal Numogram, p. 1). The first operation explains the five syzygetic flows; it does not by itself generate every line visible in the diagram.

Why the source writes 9 = 0

In the Barker dossier, nine is treated as the decimal base minus one and as a positive or “full-body” zero. Pairing 9 with 0 then closes the series of complements that begins 5::4 and makes the decimal digits into an intensive wave rather than a simple order of magnitudes (Ccru: Writings 1997–2003, p. 162). The Zone 9 notes connect the same equivalence to digital reduction, where nines can be removed without changing the final reduced value of a larger digit string (Ccru: Writings 1997–2003, PDF pp. 304–306).

This is an operational modular claim inside the system, not ordinary arithmetic equality. The page does not claim that nine and zero are interchangeable quantities in standard calculation. Its role is to make 9::0 the outer complement and to connect digital reduction with the Barker-Spiral's full span.

Diagram, game, and sorcery

The fictional Professor Barker story says that zygonovic numerism entered the spiral through Subdecadence, an occulted variation of Decadence that introduces zeroes and nine-zero twins. Seeing that operation beside the game's decimal self-pairing produces the Diplozygotic or Barker-Spiral (Ccru: Writings 1997–2003, pp. 162–163). This passage documents how the archive narrates its diagram; it does not prove Subdecadence's external history.

The term sorcery marks the point where reproducible arithmetic enters CCRU theory fiction. Anyone can check the five sums and differences. The claims that those operations map Lemurian time, demons, occult traditions, or ethnographic survivals belong to the surrounding fictional apparatus and remain separate from the arithmetic evidence. For navigation, move from this operation to barker spiral, then to numogram zones overview for the regions and numogram demons for the forty-five-position Matrix.
