Lemurian Time

Definition

Lemurian time is the temporal practice organized by Pandemonium: the Numogram maps the routes, while the Matrix turns the forty-five distances between its ten zones into named demons with addresses, pitches, rites, omens, and powers (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003.pdf, pp. 175–176). The glossary defines time-sorcery more narrowly as counterchronic effectuation of the Numogram through spiral involvement with those demonic distances, so it is a procedure for transmuting time rather than merely a mythology placed on top of a clock (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003-1.pdf, p. 424). “Lemurian Time-Maze” is accordingly an alias of the Numogram, but Lemurian time in the writings also names the hydro-cycles, nonsequential encounters, calendrics, planetary correspondences, and time-war narratives activated through that map (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003-1.pdf, pp. 236–239, 419).

These claims belong to CCRU theory fiction and hyperstition, not to accepted archaeology or a verified history of a lost civilization (Secondary Sources/Texts/Essays/Step into the Pandemonium On Breathing Life into the CCRU's Invented Magical Traditions.pdf, pp. 2–4). The archive itself mixes the language of mathematical construction, archaeological discovery, occult lineage, and fiction propagated from the future, making that instability part of the concept rather than evidence for its historical truth (Secondary Sources/Texts/Essays/Step into the Pandemonium On Breathing Life into the CCRU's Invented Magical Traditions.pdf, pp. 4–5).

Temporal mechanics

Five syzygies pair digits that sum to nine, and subtracting each pair produces a current: 1::8, 2::7, and 4::5 generate the interlocking central cycle, while 3::6 and 0::9 return into themselves as the autonomous Warp and Plex circuits (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 1). The central Time-Circuit rotates anticlockwise through Surge, Hold, and Sink; Warp and Plex are described as Outside- or Outer-time because their currents fold back into one side of their own syzygies (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003.pdf, p. 175). Digital cumulation generates each gate and reduction determines its channel, so gates act as time-faults joining regions whose current-structures would otherwise be incompatible (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003.pdf, p. 175).

The demons are the specifically Lemurian temporal operators: each irreducible distance between two zones is treated as a singular entity, and its rite traces a possible route through the map's hyper-time (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003.pdf, pp. 175–176). Chronodemons vary distance inside the Time-Circuit, amphidemons rupture that circuit toward the Outside, and xenodemons inhabit the outer gulfs, so the taxonomy is topological before it is a catalogue of personalities (Texts/Books/Author/Time Spiral Press/ccru-ccru-writings-19972003.pdf, p. 176).

The later Q&A calls the Numogram a schematic rather than a representation of an empirical object, and says its concrete applications must be mediated through time-systems, time cultures, and time politics or wars (Texts/Books/Author/hyperstition.abstractdynamics.org.pdf, pp. 679–680). It also limits claims that the diagram is a literal time-travel device: such claims remain unverified pending a reproducible procedure and experiment, even though the source says hyperstitional lineages plausibly intersect time-travel programs (Texts/Books/Author/hyperstition.abstractdynamics.org.pdf, p. 680).

The Nma hydro-cycle

The Numogram's primary ethnographic fiction locates Lemurian practice among the Nma, divided before the 1883 Krakatau catastrophe into Tak-, Mu-, and Dib-Nma and linked by a triangular patrilocal marriage-cycle (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, pp. 2–3). Each marriage follows a current—Tak-Nma women to Mu-Nma, Mu-Nma to Dib-Nma, and Dib-Nma to Tak-Nma—while a six-digit calendar divides a double year of 729 days into fractional powers of three (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 3). The text says the surviving Mu-Nma calendar adds three intercalary days every second cycle or four years, but it also admits that the earlier intercalation practice cannot be recovered (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 3).

In Nma ritual the Time-Circuit becomes a hydro-cycle with three transformations: undivided oceanic water, cloud-building through evaporation, and downpour through precipitation and river flow (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 3). These phases belong respectively to Murrumur, Oddubb, and Katak, and the return to abysmal water closes recurrence through catastrophe rather than opposing cyclic to apocalyptic time (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 3).

The Syzygy conversation turns this hydrology into a model of nonsequential encounter: Stillwell's 1920s dream and Cecil Curtis's 1883 destruction are separated by roughly thirty years in chronological time but made contemporary at a Katak–Murrumur crossover in “schizo-time” (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, pp. 5–6). The same passage treats the “limbic key” as anything that unlocks neuronic time beyond conscious sequentiality, while explicitly describing this as Stillwell's dream-sorcery narrative rather than as a demonstrated neuroscientific mechanism (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, pp. 5–6).

Forces before territories

The Syzygy conversation says Lemurian sorcery does not begin from ten stable territories: zones accumulate tension, and the forces called demons are primary to the zones that condense from their attractions and repulsions (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, p. 8). A syzygy such as 1::8 is therefore not an aggregate of two self-contained beings but a multiplicity held in numerical tension, continuous with the intensive logic of tic systems (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, p. 8).

Within the fiction, the AOE supplies the opposed model: it privileges ten rather than nine, treats zones as primary, converts twins into angelic “ascendant dualities”, and makes territorial authorities govern energy-flow (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, pp. 8–9). Lemurian time reverses that direction: circulating intensity produces temporary territories, and its 9-based n − 1 arithmetic keeps zero available as the twin of nine rather than sacrificing it to a ten-zone theological totality (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, pp. 8–9).

Lemurian Planetwork

The planetwork maps the Solar System onto zones in orbital order: Sun = 0, Mercury = 1, Venus = 2, Earth = 3, Mars = 4, Jupiter = 5, Saturn = 6, Uranus = 7, Neptune = 8, and Pluto = 9 (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/Zones.pdf, p. 2). Its calendar takes the Mercurian year as the basic beat and expresses the other orbits as nonmetric speeds and slownesses, from Venus at 2.55 Mercurian periods to Pluto at 1028.48 (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/Zones.pdf, p. 2). Planets are narrated as distributed hyper-intelligences whose “Barker-traces” propagate through myths, coincidences, and scientific fictions such as Martian canals or life on Europa; that is the text's own hyperstitional framing, not an established astronomy of planetary minds (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/Zones.pdf, p. 2).

The text acknowledges a surface tension in making a heliocentric orbital sequence serve a culture defined by resistance to centralization and gravitational capture, and answers it by distinguishing astronomical ordering from solar worship (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/Zones.pdf, p. 2). The result is a planetwork rather than a solar cult: planets supply differently paced zones in a distributed communication system whose reconstructed calendrical details remain incomplete even within the fiction (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/Zones.pdf, p. 2).

Construction, recovery, and contradiction

The formal exposition says Pandemonium is constructed from criteria latent in decimal numeracy, while “The Zones” narrates CCRU investigations as demonstrating the virtual existence of a lost Lemurian art of interplanetary communication (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 1; Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/Zones.pdf, p. 2). The later Q&A clarifies this as hyperstitional framing rather than a simple factual disagreement: the diagram is discovered insofar as it virtually inheres in decimal notation, but its time-sorcerous uses are produced by historically particular lineages (Texts/Books/Author/hyperstition.abstractdynamics.org.pdf, pp. 679–680).

CONTRADICTION: The primary diagram presents zones as the given components from which currents and demonic distances are calculated (Texts/ccru.net/Decimal Numogram/numogram.pdf, p. 1), whereas the Syzygy conversation says that treating zones as primary is the AOE's “stratic” mistake and that zones emerge from demonic tensions (Texts/Ccru – Syzygy Conversation between Mark Fisher & Steve Goodman 24_11_98 _ Sonicwarfare.pdf, p. 8). The archive therefore supplies a calculational order and an opposed ontological order without fully reconciling them.

Afterlife and reception

A 2021 study places Lemurian time-sorcery within CCRU's deliberate invention of occult tradition: military captain Peter Vysparov, anthropologist Echidna Stillwell, the Nma, and the Cthulhu Club form a fictional hidden history through which the numerical system can narrate its own discovery (Secondary Sources/Texts/Essays/Step into the Pandemonium On Breathing Life into the CCRU's Invented Magical Traditions.pdf, pp. 4–5). That study distinguishes CCRU's fictioning from its later reception, in which Aamodt, Neospare, and Vexsys recast the Numogram as practical magic, divination, and Numogoetics while openly acknowledging the tradition's invented character (Secondary Sources/Texts/Essays/Step into the Pandemonium On Breathing Life into the CCRU's Invented Magical Traditions.pdf, pp. 6–8).

CCRU Sightings extends the Lemurian time-war into a retrospective method for reading 1990s and early-2000s popular culture, explicitly wavering between ordinary thematic convergence and the hyperstitional claim that cultural patterns generated themselves across time (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/CCRU Sightings.pdf, pp. 44–46). This is a later, self-consciously speculative reception of the time-war motif, not additional primary evidence for the Nma, the AOE, or operative interplanetary communication (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/CCRU Sightings.pdf, pp. 44–46).

Gate Zero's operative time sorcery

Gate Zero turns the inherited apparatus into an explicit curriculum. Vexsys separates numogrammatics, which works with zones, net-spans, gates and currents, from numogoetics, which addresses the Matrix through mesh numbers, sigils and routes; the two are aspects of one Pandemonium rather than rival systems (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/Gate Zero/Lessons in Time Sorcery single spread.pdf, pp. 21–24). The source glosses the Matrix's compressed fields and adds instructions for portals, sigils, evocation and protective work (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/Gate Zero/Lessons in Time Sorcery single spread.pdf, pp. 23–28).

One extension, subplexing, subtracts where ordinary plexing adds, allowing gates 15, 36 and 45 to be read as return routes from warp or the Plex to the Time-Circuit (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/Gate Zero/Lessons in Time Sorcery single spread.pdf, p. 3). Subdecadence converts a forty-card decadence deck into a divinatory procedure: cards pair to sums of nine, unmatched values alter the score, and the resulting mesh value selects a Lemur (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/Gate Zero/Lessons in Time Sorcery single spread.pdf, pp. 10–14).

Vexsys reports evocations and comparative divination as experiments, but repeatedly calls the system young, incomplete and dependent on testing. Claims of demonic contact or magical efficacy remain unverified. The documentable shift is methodological: theory-fiction becomes a repertoire of diagrams, games, rituals, records and invitations to replication (Secondary Sources/Texts/Books/Gate Zero/Lessons in Time Sorcery single spread.pdf, pp. 1–14). This emic effort to “switch on” Pandemonium does not cancel the historical account of an invented tradition; it demonstrates the tension between fiction recognized as fabricated and fiction tested as operative (Secondary Sources/Texts/Essays/Step into the Pandemonium On Breathing Life into the CCRU's Invented Magical Traditions.pdf, pp. 7–9).
