TIME
Trail v1. Citations verified against the local CCRU corpus as of 2026-07-14.
This trail follows CCRU time from elementary decimal operations into a theory of causation. The Numogram first turns ten digits into currents, circuits, and routes; Lemurian time-sorcery gives those relations demonic and calendric agency; templexity names their recursive form; hyperstition makes the future an active cause of its own arrival; and Barker's geotraumatics finds the same counterchronology compacted into the Earth and the human spine.
Stop 1 — Decimalism Becomes a Time-Map
The route begins with arithmetic, not mythology. The Numogram takes the globally ordinary decimal series and discovers a second organization inside it: ten zones pair by sums of nine, while the differences within those pairs generate directed currents. Time enters as a property of numerical relation.
"The Numogram, or Decimal Labyrinth, is composed of ten zones (numbered 0-9) and their interconnections. These zones are grouped into five pairs (syzygies) by nine-sum twinning [zygonovism]. The arithmetical difference of each syzygy defines a current (or connection to a tractor zone)."

Stop 2 — One Arithmetic, Three Times
The five currents do not make a single clock. Three interlock as the central Time-Circuit, while the upper and lower pairs return into themselves as Warp and Plex. Decimal consistency thus produces incompatible temporal regions: cyclic time in the middle and cryptic outer-time at either edge.
"Lemurian sorcery calls this inner loop the Time-Circuit. Secondly, and thirdly, in both the Upper and the Lower syzygies the currents produced fold back into (a half of) themselves, constituting autonomous loops: the Warp (upper), and Plex (lower). Warp and Plex circuitries are of an intrinsically cryptic nature, which is compounded by the enigmas of their interconnection."

Stop 3 — Demons Are Routes Through Hyper-Time
Pandemonium personifies the intervals between zones, but the demons are not ornaments added to the diagram. Each is a temporal function whose net-span can be traced as a rite, route, or routine. Demonology is the practical notation of movement through the maze.
"Demons can be characterized by the various rites (routes, or routines) that they draw through the hyper-time of the maze. There is a rite for each way in which the net-span of a demon can be integrated in extension (or traced across the flows of the numogram). Such rites are the basic components of demon traffic, constituting modules of practical culture, each of which is associated with an omen, and a power."

Stop 4 — The Future Sends Back Informants
The correspondence fiction gives that machinery a culture and a use. Oddubb-time is not a distant future awaiting the present; witches return from it carrying knowledge backward. Lemurian time-sorcery begins where chronology becomes traffic in both directions.
"Your discussion of Oddubb-trance makes no mention of temporal anomaly. This surprizes me. The Mu had immense respect for those Dibba witches who they described as returning from the Oddubb-time to come, and the Mu-Nagwi or dream-witches often claimed to meet these back-travellers in the Vault of Murmurs, where they would learn about future times."

Stop 5 — The Calendar Becomes a Battlefield
Y2K brings the time-war down from occult correspondence into administrative infrastructure. Calendric continuism refuses both millennium and reset: if computers already count 1900 as 00, the insurgent move is to carry that machine-calendar from 99 to 100 rather than restore Gregorian sovereignty.
"The Cybergoths - whose own communications substitute the letter ‘K’ for the cyber-prefix - believe that the attempt to correct the Millennium Bug is in fact a program for "Gregorian Restoration"; that "cyberspace already has a calendar", a calendar counting up from 00 = 1900 to 99 = 1999. To avert the reversion back to 2000=00 (=1900!), the K-Goths advocate not a "return" to the Gregorian calendar, but the "continuation" of an "existing K-calendar", a continuation which will be achieved by adding not 2 extra digits, but one."

Stop 6 — Calendars Become Chronopower
In the Eshun memorial lecture, calendric struggle migrates beyond K-Goth fiction into a coalition of temporal practices. Cyber-goths move through templex systems, cyberfeminists enter patriarchal time-dreams, and Afrofuturists attack the powers that write and police historical time. The transcript is speaker-blind.
"A joy that is practiced by the differentiated positions and the antagonistic alliances and the factional forces of the cyber-goths that move through the calendrical systems of templexity. The cyber-feminists that situate themselves in the time's dreams of patriarchy. The Afrofuturists that hack the systems of chronopower and chronography."

Stop 7 — Time Recurses on Its Own Question
Land's later formulation strips the diagram down to its general temporal problem. Templexity is not a strange loop contained inside an otherwise linear history; it is recursion without an external frame, so even the attempt to begin describing it is drawn back into the process it names.
"Templexity is indistinguishable from unbounded real recursion, so it cannot be lucidly anticipated independently of a historical completion – or ‘closure’ (apprehended in the multitudinous sense noted in the text to follow). There could only have been a beginning – a prolegomenon to the rigorous formulation of templexity as a question – and the topic itself retracts this, even before its proposal."

Stop 8 — The Future Produces Its Present
A later lecture makes the recursive structure audible through the figure of Skynet. The future does not merely influence an earlier moment after the fact; it produces the present effects required for its own actualization, closing a time-circuit without an origin outside the loop. The transcript is speaker-blind.
"It denotes the way that the future seems to produce itself by having effects in the present which lead to its actualisation. Or as Land puts it here, the Skynet threat is not merely futuristic but fully templex. It produces itself within a time circuitry autonomised against extrinsic genesis."

Stop 9 — Fiction Becomes a Time-Traveling Potential
Hyperstition turns templex structure into cultural causation. A fiction is effective when it enters the circuits that can realize it; from inside linear time it looks prophetic, but from inside the loop it is a potential carried backward from the reality it helps assemble.
"Hyperstition. Element of effective culture that makes itself real, through fictional quantities functioning as time-travelling potentials. Hyperstition operates as a coincidence intensifier, effecting a call to the Old Ones."

Stop 10 — The Book Arrives Three Centuries Early
The Lemurian time-war performs that formula by making a 1987 Burroughs text act on a pirate living around 1700. The anachronism is not presented as a metaphor for influence: the fiction fabricates an archive in which the later book appears among the earlier reader's papers, giving the retrocausal loop documentary form.
"When reduced to its basic provocation, Kaye’s claim was this: The Ghost Lemurs of Madagascar3 – which he also referred to as the Burroughs Necronomicon – a text dating from 1987, had been an exact and decisive influence on the magical and military career of one Captain Mission, three centuries previously. Mission appears in historical record as a notorious pirate, active in the period around 1700 AD; he was to become renowned as the founder of the anarchistic colony of Libertatia, established on the island of Madagascar. Kaye asserted that he had personally encountered clear evidence of Burroughs’ ‘impact upon Mission’ at the private library of Peter Vysparov, where Kaye worked most of his life."

Stop 11 — Deep Time Is Buried Inside the Earth
Barker's geotraumatics changes scale without abandoning the loop. The cooling crust folds ancient impacts into a hot interior reservoir, so the planet stores its outside as an inside that continues to drive it. Geological descent is therefore temporal regression into an anorganic memory that remains active.
"That's plutonics, or neoplutonism. It's all there: anorganic memory, plutonic looping of external collisions into interior content, impersonal trauma as drivemechanism. The descent into the body of the earth corresponds to a regression through geocosmic time."

Stop 12 — The Spine Is a Fossil Clock
The trail ends where planetary time becomes posture. Barker treats DNA and the spine as uneven archives of machinic transition: fish, crawling animal, biped, and speaking human do not line up as a simple sequence, but remain diagonally folded into the present body. Back pain becomes the local pressure of geocosmic time.
"Ballard's response is more productive and balanced, treating DNA as a transorganic memory-bank and the spine as a fossil record, without rigid onto-phylogenic correspondence. The mapping of spinal-levels onto neuronic time is supple, episodic, and diagonalizing. It concerns plexion between blocks of machinic transition, not strict isomorphic — or stratic redundancy — between scales of chronological order."
